Having been formed in 1982, and after a lot of fund raising by enthusiastic volunteers, the Bridlington Hospital Broadcasting Service (BHBS) was launched on Sunday 15 July 1984 in the Avenue Hospital, and extended to Lloyd Hospital five months later.

Following the development of the new Bridlington and District Hospital, BHBS moved into its new studio and on March 5th 1988, it was re-launched on air as "Hits and Memories BHBS".
